About

I am a trained photojournalist, and I photograph a wedding the way I was taught to cover a story — following the day as it happens, and staying out of its way.

How I work

I have a BA in Art and English from Muhlenberg College and an MS in Photojournalism from Boston University, but the education that actually shaped how I shoot came from the newspapers I worked at afterwards. That way of seeing has stayed in everything I photograph since.

So I shoot a wedding as the story of the day. I start while you are getting ready with your people, follow you through the vows and stay for the reception, looking for the candid moments and the small details nobody notices until the photographs come back. Posed portraits matter too, and I make time for those — the mix of the two is what I think works best for a wedding.

No two weddings want the same thing, so I would rather you chose your own coverage than pay for parts of a package you never wanted. Every package comes back to you as full-size, high resolution photographs with full printing rights, on a flash drive, with three months of web hosting.

When I am not photographing, I am usually outdoors — running road races, kayaking or hiking — or at live music and hockey with my husband, our two kids and three dogs. I live in Massachusetts and I am very lucky to have found work this enjoyable.
